The text tool allows me to add text to the document, and I can alter the size and colour, as well as the font from the drop down menu.
I used the Horizontal Type Tool to write the Starring name, as this allowed me to write in a normal way on the screen, as I did not need to write in any other way at this time.
Once I had written the names, each on an individual layer I was able to use the select tool to move and position the text in the desired place. I decided that they would be good placed on the front cover, and decided on Myriad Pro font as felt that this was clear and easy to read.
The Spine was more difficult to do, as needed me on the side and down the spine panel that I had created.
To do this I first began to look at the Vertical Type Tool. When using this I realised that this was not the correct tool that I needed as this made the text go down in a vertical manner that mean the letters were underneath each other rather than written like normal text but at vertical angle.
To overcome this issue I used the same tool that I used previously for the starring text and aside from making it larger and bold altered its angle by selecting the text with the selection tool and then rotated the text from the menu at the top of the Photoshop program by selecting Edit, then transform, followed by rotate.
Once rotation has been selected arrows then appear on the corners that allow me to drag the shape round to change its angle. When at the correct angle I could then use the transforming corners to adjust the size of the text to make it fit, and be able to make it as large as possible still fitting in the spine panel.
The blurb text was done in the same way, using the same font, and size, being that of 11, the same as the starring font, as this is a suitable size that is not too big and overwhelming, but still easy to see and be able to read. I selected where I wanted the text box to be and in turn where the beginning of the text to start.
I then altered each line of the text by using enter where necessary to make the text follow the shape of the moon on the right side.
I thought this was a good effect as placed greater emphasis on the moon.
